Swine Testing Rebate Program

The Wisconsin Pork Association offers two tiers of rebates to producers testing for Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv).

Tier 1: $25 rebate to pork producers to help offset ELISA testing costs.

Tier 2: $100 rebate to pork producers to offset PCR testing costs.

If your test shows a positive PRRS result, ask your veterinarian to request that sequencing be done and WPA will cover the additional costs associated. Sequencing can be done within 30 days of testing. Submit sequence results and invoice with your test results when applying for the rebate.

Wisconsin’s Animal Health rule effective as of March 2018, requires farms with pigs to test for PRRS and PEDv when moving intrastate or interstate. Testing is not required for pigs moving directly to harvest. More information on the Wisconsin Swine Health Rule may be found at https://datcp.wi.gov/ and searching “swine movement” or directly at https://datcp.wi.gov/Pages/Programs_Services/SwineMovement.aspx.
