WPA has events year-round such as seminars, regional meetings, the Pork Classic Golf Outing, and the Pork – Corn – Soy Expo.
As a WPA member, you will receive regular communications on important industry topics at the both the state and national level. Further, choosing to become an Extended Benefits or SIP member provides a voice for you and other Wisconsin producers on issues front and center to the pork industry.
US SHIP is being modeled after the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP), a collaborative effort involving industry, state, and federal partners providing standards for certifying the health status of greater than 99% of commercial scale poultry and egg operations across the US.
The Wisconsin Pork Association offers two tiers of rebates to producers testing for Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv). Testing is required to comply with Wisconsin’s Animal Health rule effective March 2018. The rule requires farms with pigs to test for PRRS and PEDv when moving intrastate or interstate.
Attendees can expect an exciting, jam-packed agenda full of educational breakout sessions, networking events, annual meetings, and entertainment for all! Additionally, the Wisconsin Pork Association will give updates on the PRRS and PEDv program, foreign animal disease preparedness in our state, the new Wisconsin Raised program, sustainability, and other ways your Checkoff and SIP dollars are being utilized.
