We care commitment

Pig farmers are committed to sustainability and continuous improvement. The We Care commitment was launched in 2008 as a way to promote responsibility across every aspect of pork production. Developed by pig farmers and operated by the National Pork Board, the National Pork Producers Council and the state organizations representing pig farmers, We Care serves as a promise to continuously evaluate and improve production methods. We Care…because nothing less will do!

America's pig farmers

Farming is our way of life- 98% of America’s pig farms are family owned. The future of our farms, large and small, is tied to the land, air, and to the health of the animals in our care. Our future depends on using good farming practices to raise healthy pigs that produce safe, high-quality food.

As providers in the food supply chain, it is our responsibility to uphold the highest standards. That is why we strive to be as open and transparent as possible about how we raise pigs and operate our farms.

We are proud that the U.S. food supply is safer and more nutritious than any other time in history!
