October is National Pork Month, and Wisconsin Pig Farmers and Culver’s restaurants are teaming to “Bacon Up”! All month long, bacon will take over restaurant counters and guests will be encouraged to add bacon to their ButterBurger® or sandwich orders. In addition, on October 1st, the amazing pork tenderloin value basket will be on special.
October became known as Pork Month because it marked the time of year when pigs were traditionally marketed. Today, it serves as a celebration to thank pig farmers and share their stories with consumers. “To help celebrate, pig farmers encourage busy families throughout Wisconsin to enjoy the delicious pork products Culver’s has to offer, especially when they’re on the go,” said Mandy Masters, WPA Assistant Program Director.
Additionally, a short pork video clip will be featured on the Culver’s website and Facebook page, and on Wisconsin Pork Association’s website and Facebook page (www.wppa.org and www.facebook.com/wipork) beginning October 1. The video will highlight Culver’s pork tenderloin sandwich and give an inside view of a modern pig barn.
You can show your support for Wisconsin pig farmers during October Pork Month by stopping in at your nearest Wisconsin, Iowa, or Illinois Culver’s restaurant October 1 for a pork tenderloin value basket and be sure to ‘Bacon Up’ with Culver’s all month long!
